Project

VDAB, the public employment service in Belgium, sought to create digital information packages for jobseekers about specific jobs, industries, or training opportunities. I was responsible for the visual storytelling for the first 45 packages.

After researching the target audience, we designed interactive online packages featuring clickable figures and animated videos to engage and educate users.

Character development

With a focus on inclusivity, each information package features unique characters, along with specialized outfits or equipment relevant to specific jobs. We developed an illustration system that laid the foundation for the first 45 packages, offering a scalable approach for future content creation.

Concept sketches

Our goal was to create an accessible and welcoming environment. The challenge was to design clear, concise visuals that are inclusive and easily understood by all, including those with varying levels of language proficiency or digital literacy. We explored and refined many ideas to ensure the content was engaging and accessible to a diverse audience.

Animated videos

The animated videos serve as an introduction to the information packages and potential training opportunities for viewers. The introduction video is displayed on the VDAB page before accessing the package, while the training video is seamlessly integrated within the package itself.

"Driven" is the word that comes to mind when I think of Stefanie. I had the pleasure of working together with Stefanie in the same team for more than a year. Stefanie's ability to translate any initial idea or concept into a strong and striking design proposal is really exceptional and made a dramatic difference in the productivity of our team. She would be an asset for any positions requiring a passionate and creative approach.

Development & results

The digital packages were developed using Rise, incorporating clickable elements alongside custom-made visuals. This approach led to improved engagement, with a noticeable increase in job applications and training enrollments since the packages were launched.

"I extremely enjoyed working with Stefanie. She has great ideas and executes them beautifully. Really nice to see what she can do. Moreover, she works in a very structured and efficient way, which is a great asset in any project.”
